After discussions between the Supporters Club and Portsmouth Fc the Football Club agreed to run Coach travel to the ground with 31 fans booking on to use it. It Provided fans with a safe route directly to the ground eliminating any potential worry's about parking or walking around Southampton especially when wearing Blue in the Dark.

The day got of to an eventful start, upon arriving at Fratton Park to get on the coach there was a mass of cars parked along the road with a group of fans all congregated outside the club shop. This was due to the gates of the carpark being locked. After a 15 minute wait, after when we were supposed to depart, a member of staff appeared opening the gates meaning everyone could park and the coach set off swiftly after.
When we arrived at the stadium there was a short wait until they opened the turnstiles which gave fans an opportunity to get photos outside the ground. (Some with fans making gestures that may not be overly appropriate to share on the blog.. lol)

Once you had gone through a security search you entered through the turnstiles. There was a lot of disapproval from the blues fans that they had to download a Southampton ticketing app onto their phones to be able to get through the turnstiles. There was a bit of a competition of who could delete it off their phone quickest after getting in..
We were really pleased to see the concourse area had been completely sectioned off by closing some solid metal divides giving Pompey fans their own area separate from the Home fans. The Concourse had drinks and a limited food menu available. We did hear that the hotdogs weren't the best.

Southampton did offer a matchday Program however they weren't advertised to the traveling fans with lots of people not even realising they were doing one. They had a limited few behind the bar that you had to ask about if you wanted one. To be honest from a Pompey perspective they weren't really worth worrying about as there was really no mention of Pompey in it other than a small bit of text boasting about winning in the reverse fixture.

The traveling Pompey Fans were located in section 10 which is in the South East corner of the Ground. We had a good clear view over the pitch however maybe we were lucky it was an evening game as the sun was shining directly into the stand when we first arrived. It did drop below the opposite stand not long after Kick off so wasn't too much of an issue in the end. There was some metal railing and a completely empty section dividing both sets of fans.
It was good to see a large number of friendly and super helpful stewards which were posted around to help the Pompey Fans whilst in the ground.
Before the game there was a mini Orchestra which played the Saints Anthem as the teams walked out onto the pitch which as you can imagine was met with loud Pompey Boos!

The Pompey chimes were sung loud and proud throughout the whole game with fans really getting behind the girls which was fantastic to see.
At Full time the Players Walked over Applauding the Traveling fans and took the time to catch up and get pictures with everyone.
